Contemporary Mosaic Art from the Pacific Northwest
Announcing an in-person exhibition! The group of mosaic artists I’m a part of is excited to announce that we will be exhibiting a new group of work this October in Port Townsend, WA. The show travels to Lincoln City, Oregon in December. We had arranged these last year, but when Covid-19 hit, we had seriously reduced hopes that the shows would happen at all in 2020. The first in the series of shows had been planned for June in Olympia, WA, but had to be postponed until sometime in 2021. So when the Northwind Arts Center notified us that they indeed wanted to show our art in person as planned, we were surprised! Happy, but for some of us, it meant kicking into high gear, because I, for one, had pretty much stopped making art in March, April, May, and was having a hard time getting into the studio.
I was surprised and honored that the gallery curators chose my work, Activate the Midline, to grace the cover of the current edition of their online magazine! I invite anyone in the Northwest who can and is interested to take a trip to Port Townsend to view our show! Or to Lincoln City in December. The group of accomplished and talented colleagues are Mark Brody, Scott Fitzwater and Karen Rycheck from Portland, Oregon, Joanne Daschel from Lincoln City, Oregon, Jennifer Kuhns from Elma, Washington, Todd Campbell and Kelley Knickerbocker from Seattle, and Richard Davis from Clinton, Whidbey Island, Washington.
