A New Chapter / by Lynn Adamo

I have been on my visual art journey for 27 years. This journey has been focused on making mosaic art: public installations, community murals and personal work. Specifically, mosaic art with durable hard materials. I’ve learned and studied with masters and honed my skills of traditional mosaic-making. Through those years I’ve always pushed beyond the traditional, creating “contemporary mosaic”, with non-traditional materials combined with the traditional stone and smalti (mosaic glass.) I’ve incorporated things like found rusted objects and woolen felt into my work for many years.

Now, I’m writing a new chapter. No longer accepting commissions or working in the public sphere, I am focusing on my own personal expression. My interest in fiber and traditional handcrafts has been growing, opening up new possibilities of combining soft and hard materials. I finally have the vision and drive to work towards a new and cohesive body of work!

Out with the Old

I have nine artworks that I’ve made over the years, shown a number of times, and they haven’t sold. Each one stands alone, i.e. they were created as one-offs or the last available from a series.
I think each has merits and qualities, and I’ve enjoyed them hanging on my walls. But it’s time to move on. I’m working on new ideas and projects, and I’d like to make space on those walls.
To help with this, I’m offering a sale. Modeled after a print exchange sale that Bob has participated in with Whiteaker Printmakers in Eugene, here’s the deal:
